Starting a Low-Lift YouTube Channel

As a digital product creator and life-first business strategist, I've always been drawn to finding ways to make the seemingly difficult tasks in business feel more accessible and enjoyable.

That's why I'm excited to share my journey of restarting my YouTube channel - this time, with a focus on keeping things simple, fun, and valuable for both myself and my audience.

In this blog, I’ll be sharing some of the behind-the-scenes of why I’m starting my low-lift YouTube channel and my plans to keep it simple as I go!

My Past YouTube Struggles

A couple of years ago, I started my YouTube channel with the optimistic idea that it would be an easy way to market my digital products and grow my business. However, I quickly realized that making YouTube work is a lot of hard work. I got in my own head, tried to overcomplicate things, and ultimately gave up on the channel.

But this time, I'm approaching it differently. I've grown a lot in my business and as a person, and I'm treating this YouTube experiment as just that - an experiment. My goal is to make this as fun and low-energy as possible, while still providing valuable content to my audience.

My Guiding Principles for This YouTube Channel

As I embark on this new YouTube journey, I've set a few key principles to guide me:

  • Focus on valuable tips and behind-the-scenes content: I want to share not only practical, actionable advice, but also give you a glimpse into the inner workings of my business. I believe this will help you get to know me better and potentially inspire you to think outside the box when it comes to your own business strategies.

  • Keep the production simple: Despite my background in film, I'm challenging myself to not overcomplicate the production process. My goal is to create great content without getting bogged down in perfection.

  • Make it fun and engaging: I want this YouTube channel to feel like something we both look forward to enjoying and creating together. I'm aiming for a sense of connection and open conversation, rather than just speaking into the void.

My Content Plan and Scheduling

With these principles in mind, here's the plan for my YouTube channel:

  • I'll be sharing a new video with you on YouTube each week, though I may batch some content ahead of time to help maintain that schedule. That said, I don't want to be too hard on myself if I miss a week here and there - life happens, and I want to stay flexible.

  • The content will be a mix of educational tutorials and behind-the-scenes looks at my business. I'm also excited to experiment with things like creating video series and potentially even incorporating AI to help streamline the production process.

  • In the meantime, if you're looking for something else to listen to, I'd love to encourage you to check out my Digital Product Unlocks private podcast series. In this four-part podcast, I take you behind the scenes of my digital product business and share how you can get started with your own successful digital products while keeping a life-first focus.

The Value I Hope to Provide

At the heart of this YouTube experiment is my desire to provide value to you, my audience. I don't just want to create content that helps grow my business or audience - I want to build a genuine connection and give you practical, actionable advice that you can apply to your own entrepreneurial journey.

As a digital product creator and life-first business strategist, my fundamental goal is to help take the fear and overwhelm out of the things we need to do to be successful in business. That means sharing my own struggles and experiments, as well as offering tips and strategies that have worked for me.

I'm particularly passionate about helping other low-energy entrepreneurs find ways to make their businesses work for their lives, rather than the other way around. That's why I'm excited to use this YouTube channel as a platform to explore different approaches, challenge the status quo, and hopefully inspire you to think more creatively about your own business.

Connecting with You

One of the key things I'm hoping to achieve with this YouTube channel is a deeper connection with you, my audience. I want this to feel like an open conversation, where you can share your thoughts, questions, and ideas with me.

So, I encourage you to subscribe to the channel and hit the bell to be notified when new videos drop. And in the comments, let me know what kind of content you're most excited to see. What topics or questions do you have that you'd like me to address in future videos? I'm here to listen and create content that truly resonates with you.
