6 Low-Energy Marketing Strategies For Launching

Are you about to launch a new business, product, program, or digital course? There are so many different marketing strategies out there to consider, and it can be really tough to know which ones will be the most effective for you. Especially if you don’t have a lot of time or energy

6 Launch Marketing Strategy Ideas for Low-Energy Entrepreneurs

1) Launch With a Not-So-Live Launch Event

A great way to get people excited about your launch is by hosting a launch event. While the “typical” way of hosting a workshop or challenge LIVE might seem overwhelming and far from low-stress, there are some creative ways you can host a challenge that don’t require a lot of your limited energy.

Consider being very limited or entirely removing the “live” element of your event.

For example, you could pre-record all of your training ahead of time and stream them into a pop-up Facebook group. Then you’d just need to show up for a Q&A session or, even better, answer questions in a designated post.

This is what I did when I first ran my Build With Me: 5 Day Squarespace Website Challenge. I recorded all of the training videos ahead of time, and then each day I simply streamed the videos into a group and emailed my list with a link. Then I made myself available for any follow-up questions throughout the week, which really meant I checked my Facebook a bit more regularly than a typical week!

Now, this will feel a little different from the typical “live” challenge, so you do want to make sure your topic for your challenge is on point! Remember, the topic of your live challenge should naturally lead to your product or offer launch. And you’ll want to make sure you’re proving something genuinely valuable in your challenge, ideally with a step-by-step process you’re walking them through during the challenge.

2) Launch With a Webinar or Workshop

Another great marketing strategy for a launch is hosting a webinar or workshop.

Now, you could do this live via Zoom or using other video conferencing platforms like Demio or EasyWebinar, but my preferred low-energy method is to pre-record your webinar and share the training on a set date for a limited time!

I did exactly this for a launch for my now-retired website template kit, where I taught on the 5 misconceptions most entrepreneurs have about successful websites and then shared more about my template and how it could help support them in avoiding the most common traps of an under-performing website.

While speaking off the cuff is usually the way to go, for a pre-recorded sales training like this it's usually best to have some sort of script or outline prepared ahead of time. Not only does this help you not get derailed too much by questions during the presentation itself but it also makes sure you keep on track and don’t run over time!

3) Launch With a Collaboration

I’m a big fan of collaboration, especially when it comes to business! Not only is it often easier to do things with a buddy but it’s also a great way to ensure you have more eager people to share your offer with.

So why not bring the collaborative spirit to your launch?

One of the most successful, and low-effort, ways I’ve used collaboration for my launches is through my affiliate program. In exchange for sharing my launch and offer with their audience, my affiliates get a 30% (or higher!) commission on any sales made through their link. Talk about a win-win!

Here are some low-energy ways to include affiliates in your launch:

  1. Reach out to some ideal affiliate partners for your upcoming launch and see how they could get more involved in promoting your offer

A great place to find potential affiliate partners is to consider who your ideal audience would also be interested in and reach out to them with a proposal for promoting your launch. Remember, this proposal should be mutually beneficial, so they usually would receive a percentage commission for any new students they send your way.

  2. Stoke people’s competitive nature and add in a little fun by offering gifts or prizes for your top affiliates!

Though this is certainly not required for a successful affiliate launch, it can be a great way to get your affiliate sales team engaged with your launch.

  3. Provide swipe copy & graphics for your affiliates to make it as easy as possible for them to promote your launch

An easy way to do this is to take the emails and social posts you’ll be using for your launch and tweak them slightly to talk about you and your offer from a more outside perspective.

4) Launch With a Virtual Summit

While hosting a virtual summit or online event isn’t exactly low-energy, it can have big rewards as you grow your audience and get them really excited to work with you. So consider reducing the scope of your event to something small but impactful, such as a handful of well-aligned speakers for a 2-day event.

You could also partner up and co-host your event with a business friend, like I do with my business bestie (and co-owner of my second business Like A Mother Movement) Olivia 🥰

5) Launch With a Contest

Hosting a contest is a great way to drum up excitement around your launch.

You can choose to do this on social media, through email marketing, or even simply on your website. Just make sure the prize is something people would actually want, and that any content or giveaway fits legal guidelines.

I ran a giveaway early on in my business with 2 free Website Audits up for grabs. It was super easy to set up - I literally just created a special form inside my email marketing system ConvertKit, tagged the entries and picked the winners at random. And the rewards were pretty great, I grew my list, gained some new followers and one of the Website Audit winners ended up going on to become a paid client months later!

6) Launch With a Free Trial

If you're selling a digital product or membership, consider offering a free trial period to your customers. This super low-energy strategy basically just offers a free trial period for a week or so, and it can really help increase conversions leading up to your launch. This works particularly well for higher-ticket products or robust memberships since they won’t be able to make it through all of the content during the free trail.

You could even launch by sharing a free lesson or two as a sneak peak of the product before buying. I do this for my Sell Without Sales Calls course, where you get free access to the first lesson for a few days to see if it’s a good fit.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to marketing strategies, there are so many different options. The best way to know which ones will work best for your launch is by testing them out in advance and seeing what resonates with people!

Remember that everything takes time, but if you keep at it consistently, you'll eventually find success. Good luck with your upcoming launch!
