My best copywriting advice
Copywriting is simply the words that we use to market our business and words are so important in helping people connect with your offers and decide that they want to work with you.
Write for your CLIENTS, not for you
So my very best tip is to write your text on your website and every way you're marketing your business for your clients and not for yourself.
Simply shift your perspective so that you’re helping these people decide if you have the right solution for them and that you understand the problem they're struggling with.
This is going to be a huge help for your future clients so they don't have to go through the mental exercise of figuring out if you are the right fit for them!
You've done that work for them! And they’ll love you even more for that.
How to implement this tip
So a super simple way to do this is when we're looking at our websites, simply control F and try and find all the instances that you use, the word “I” and see how you can replace those with the word “you”.
You’ll simply want to rephrase those sentences that have the word “I”, and see if you can make those focused on that potential client.
So for example, if you're saying “I am a website designer and I work with service providers”, a better way to phrase that (to connect with those potential clients) is to simply say, “You are a service provider looking for a new website”.
You can obviously go into more detail with your sentences, but just that perspective shift is going to help people connect with you and help them see that the website that they are on is there to serve them.
