Stunning website refresh in one day: Behind the scenes of a VIP Intensive

Well, my friend, let me show you exactly how it went with one of my recent clients!
Behind-the-scenes breakdown of how a VIP Intensive works
My lovely client Mari Vega reached out knowing that she needed help with her website. She had evolved her business so much over the years and had been adding on to her website as she went, creating a site full of ideas but lacking a clear customer journey or positioning of her offers.
Here’s how our project went!
Discovery call
Mari and I met in a group and after seeing a post I’d written about websites, she asked if we could hop on a call to chat about her site. I had a snoop around her website before we hopped on the call, and then asked her all about her business and her goals for her website to see what solution might be the best fit for her.
She had a lot of the right pieces in place on her site, including an e-commerce store where she sold both digital and physical products, and her goals were to increase the number of people joining her newsletter and signing up for her low ticket offer.
It seemed like a perfect fit for a VIP Intensive and I shared my perspective on what we could do to improve her customer journey and improve her chances of conversion during our time together.
Pre-Work
Once we’d booked in the project I sent Mari the VIP Intensive workbook where I gather all of the important information I’ll need on the day to work on her site and asked her to share all of her existing content and branding.
Mari jumped on this right away and within a week of booking with me she’d filled in our workbook and shared all of the key information I needed for our day together. She also had the opportunity to share her “wish list” with me for things she’d love to improve on her site, which became our guidepost for the workflow of our intensive.
About a week before our project date, I reviewed everything Mari had sent me and followed up about a few details and made sure I could access her website. We also confirmed the game plan for our time and set the priorities for me to work on, which ended up focusing on streamlining her navigation, redesigning her homepage and refreshing several of her important sales pages.
During the day
First thing on our scheduled day I logged into Mari’s website and made copies of the pages I would be working on, to ensure we had backups just in case we wanted to bring something back as we worked.
I then dove into restructuring her site’s navigation to allow for a simpler, easier experience moving around her website.
Then I stuck into redesigning her homepage, which involved not only finding a way to present her business in the most captivating way possible but also finding an elegant way to showcase her various offers without overwhelming a potential customer.
With the homepage mostly done, I then set to work on her sales page for her coaching services which are her highest ticket offer. She had a lot of content already for this page, so my mission was really to find a way to make the page flow naturally and hit on the important conversion principles that would help Mari book the right clients.
I also did some design work on a few other pages, worked on a little of the tech to ensure all of her systems were working correctly and then recorded a video walking through the work I’d done in our first day.
Final Touches
Since Mari and I are in different timezones, we were able to tag-team the project beautifully. As I wrapped up the first day, I sent over the video I’d recorded reviewing the work I’d done thus far and some questions so we could finalize everything. Mari then had the whole day on her end to review everything and send back her notes at the end of her day.
The next morning my time, I jumped in and put the finishing touches on everything and pushed her newly refreshed website live!
I also recorded another quick video to show Mari some of the new functionality I added to her site and how she could update everything herself moving forward.
Post project support
As part of my VIP Intensives clients continue to get email access to me for 7 days. During this time I encouraged Mari to review everything we’d worked on carefully and send over any questions to make sure she felt 100% confident using her website moving forward.
Results
Mari was THRILLED with the new clean and clear structure of her website! She also found extra clarity around her offers and how to present the various ways of working with her through our work together. She’s just hosted another event and is excitedly promoting her next event sending clients directly to book on her refreshed website.
