Showing your face on your website

Showing your face on your website is a wonderful way to help those potential clients put a face to your name.

We, as service providers are essentially personal brands and people really want to get to know the person behind the business. Showing your face in your photos is an easy way to help people connect with you and feel like they know you.

Let people make eye contact with you

You also can build a lot of trust with people by letting them look you in the eye. I know it sounds silly because it's photos, but people do really resonate better with people and we can make eye contact.

website photos dos and don'ts

For example, here I have two photos from my recent brand photo shoot and on the left, you'll see me smiling and looking directly at the camera. This is a much more friendly and approachable photo.

Then the image on the right, while beautiful, doesn't really give you a sense of who I am and help you connect with me as a person.

Benefits of using photos of yourself on your website

I will also share that once someone has seen a picture of you, it's much easier for them to feel comfortable having a chat with you on a video call!

If you are trying to encourage people to book a video call with you as part of your sales process, showing your face is a great way to encourage that.

Show off your brand with photography

Lastly, photos are a fantastic way to show off your unique brand and really add some visual flare to your website. It's a great way to add to the visual identity that you are curating for your website and break up the texts that you are sharing everywhere on your website, so it's not so hard for people to browse and read.
